I still am amazed that Steph and Dean planned and executed their Osmaston Park wedding in around 3 months. Not only did they plan and organise the wedding so quickly, but they also planned a round-the-World trip in that time too. I awed and envious rolled into one! The ceremony took place at Derby City Church, Steph’s family church, one that she is a big part of, and it was packed to the rafters with well-wishers.
The theme of the wedding was travel, that being because only days after the wedding Steph & Dean set off travelling around the World for a year. The table plan and table names featured all of the countries they planned to visit. They had bunting and confetti made from World atlases and a postcard wall, where guests were encouraged to send a postcard with their RSVPs and extra ones were made and added on the night. Placecards were luggage tags, and guests had travel trivia cards and pocket gliders to entertain them. The cake! The cake! It was awesome, made by one of the bridesmaids (she should definitely take it up for a living). The details were utterly cute, I’m not sure whether the flip-flops in the sand were my favourite or the ice-skating penguins! There were lots of thought touches but I have to say I particularly liked the Grandparent Priority Seating area.
The evening got off to a full swing with the Derby-based wedding band The Distractions, who Steph happens to be a member of – you’ll normally find her playing the sax, you can check out their website here.
It was an utterly special day, and I was so pleased to be a part of it. Congratulations Steph and Dean xx
