How much do I love Sarah and Anthony’s Cattow’s Farm tipi wedding in Leicestershire?? Right from when I first met them to discuss their plans I knew I was in for a treat for the camera on the day and I wasn’t disappointed. From the fun and much laughter getting ready with Sarah and her lively maids the fun and relaxed wedding photography tone of the day was set.
I would highly recommend a wedding at St Peter’s church in Thornton, Leicestershire. The church is stunning and in an enviable position atop a hill overlooking Thornton Reservoir. The vicar Rev’d Simon is lovely and welcoming too.
After the ceremony we nipped down to the waterside to grab some portraits and group photos, which we are glad we did, as the weather soon turned sour.
Back for the wedding reception at Cattow’s Farm the tipis were the perfect way to cosy in away from the driving rain and cold outside. Sarah and Anthony being avid skiers chose an Alpine theme for their decor, which worked so well in the inclement weather, particularly the indoor alpine fire pit – which everyone congregated around. The merriment commenced…
I have to say though, in all the documentary wedding photography I have shot over the last few years, I have witnessed such hilarious speeches from all the speakers. I had to be careful of camera shake with all the laughter…..and to finale the speeches with an eating contest – well definitely a first (I still don’t know how he did it). The night was rounded off with fabulous rousing music from The Dirty Carpet Band.
Here are some of my favourites from the day……please do feel free to comment and/or share on social media too.
